Psalm 40:5-10

This passage is exceedingly deep in its scope of understanding. It rightly places value, not on superficial things, but on the heart. Just to be clear, you can’t proclaim the heart to be spiritually healthy if that heart does not impact how you live. A heart lived for Christ always results in a life lived for Christ. If your life is not lived in obedience to Christ then you must wrestle with the quality of your heart.

  • Do you delight to do the will of God?
  • Delight to do the will of God…that is huge! If you answer “yes”, how is your delight reflected in your life? If you answer, “no”, how might you have a change of heart?
  • Do the beliefs and values of your heart impact the way you live? If not, pray that the Lord will transform both your heart and life.

A Prayer: Father, I want to be found in you. I want the imprint of the cross of Jesus Christ in my heart. I want the love I say I have for you to make a radical impact on how it is I live. May the praise of Jesus be uncontained by my lips. Father, I belong to you.
